CraftyHazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge: January Design Team Project

This month I wanted to make a more masculine feeling card.  I turned to my patterned paper pad that I have had quite a long time in my stash by Recollections.  Unfortunately, the paper pad does not have a name, but it has tans and browns in its pallet.  I love it.  It is my go-to when creating a masculine card.  To see the pad up close check out the coordinating video of my making this card here.  The card was inspired by a card I pinned on Pinterest.  It is not the same but close.  The card is 4 ¼ x 5 ½.  The background piece I cut out using a scalloped edged die, then dry embossed with an embossing folder that to me looks like the pattern you see on some metal pieces.  I distressed this a bit with some black soot distress oxide.  Layered on that is a piece of patterned paper and it has a double stitched edge thanks to another die in my stash.  I then added on three smaller pieces from the pad.  The sentiment brought it together.  The strip is from a pack I got from Alli Express called Junk Journal Sentiment Stickers.  The Relax and Enjoy I made on Cricut Design Space using my Cricut Explore to cut it out of white cardstock.

This was a pretty simple card.  I am glad I took the time to do it as my stash of masculine themed cards was looking slim.  I think I need to make a few more.  Hope you were inspired!

Guide to Card Sizes

I kept forgetting what is considered a slimline card size versus a mini slimline.  So I thought...why not make myself a guide so I don't have to look it up EVERY time?  I hope this short video and guide is helpful.  It is not an exhaustive list by any means...because we can make a card any size we want but I wanted a quick guide for those I see most often around the cardmaking world...  😃

Split Card Design = 4 Cards

I wanted to start out by saying I am sorry I have been MIA lately. Just had some surgery and still recuperating. I am happy to share another split card design video with you. I am just in love with this technique! Getting 4 cards done with minimal supplies and time really is a great way to spend the afternoon. I also want you to note that this card has no coloring of the outline images. For those beginning in this craft remember, not every image has to be colored in. I still think the results are simple yet stunning. Hope this inspires you to get out a few stamps and have some fun!

OK THE DEADLINE FOR CHRISTMAS CARDS IS APPROACHING BUT ...

You still have time to do this one!  You will need paint, a couple of markers, and something to top the tree.  I used a Snowflake sequin.  You can do it!

One More Simple Chrismas Card... The Absolute Easiest!

Yes, I know I keep saying it..but there is still time to make a few Christmas Cards if you want to. This time I used a simple Dollar Tree Tag as the focal point. I added some sequins with white gel pen dash marks to end up with this super simple but festive card.
