This Challenge was a Challenge

I love following challenge blogs and entering when I have a moment.  But this Just Us Girls Color Challenge #620 ended up being harder than I thought it would be.

I knew where I wanted to start I had a teal-ish background I had made on one of my latest TikTok lives.  I thought no problem just add some brown and orange elements you are done.

Well, I just couldn't seem to get something that I thought would go together.  So I ended up adding a panel I colored with an orange Sharpie, I added a bit of definition with a brown frame on that with a brown Sharpie.  (Talk about getting back to the basics...I know right?)  I still wasn't happy so I ran it through my Big Shot with an embossing folder.  Ok, now I am getting somewhere.  The sentiment I added in StazOn Timber Brown.  I just got this sentiment set from CZ Design called Clean Line Everyday.  It is becoming my favorite quickly.  It just needed a bit more something so I spied these glitzy brads I have had forever so I stuck that on as well.

Is it the best card I have ever made...no.  But I really do like the end result.  Thanks for the stretch Just Us Girls!

Challenges Card, Clean and Simple🤨

I haven't joined any challenges in a while. Today I found two I wanted to combine. I am entering this card in the Freshly Made Sketches # 518

and the Just Us Girls Challenge # 616

Color Week
(light blue, silver, and white). This is a super simple card but I liked how it came together with all the elements. I used a homemade stencil I made quite some time ago using Cricut Design space along with Salty Ocean Distress Oxides. I added a silver frame using recollections cards stock. Two square stacking dies helped to create my frame. Also from my die stash, I found this cute coffee or tea carafe. At least I think that is what it is. 🤨 I colored that with a couple of Copic markers then added a flower brad in the middle. Super simple but cute! 😍

Sketch/Inspiration Challenges

Yes, it is challenge time again.  So I am diving in with my usual card entering two challenges.  The contenders you ask?  The Just Us Girls Challenge blog with their inspiration photo:
Along with a sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches:

I went pretty simple using some older stamps in my stash by Technique Tuesday.  I stamped Hello Honey by Stampin' Up, followed by some Versamark ink, and clear embossing powder.  I then blended on Momento's London Fog Ink and added SU's Night of Navy around the edges.

On the card base, I added blue cardstock that had also been inked on the edges with Night of Navy.

The sentiment I had already had die cut out in my die cut bin.  I then used a sharpie to color some clear gems and added them for a bit of interest.  I think this turned out pretty good, though I think I could have done a bit better...but I am happy with the results.

The card I am entering into Just Us Girls Challenge # 599 found here.  I will also enter this into Freshly Made Sketches Challenge # 500 found here

Oh Hey

This is just a casual card to say Oh Hey!  How's it going?  I am enjoying participating in some challenges so I am doing so again today.  First is:

You can find this challenge here.  I am also entering this card into the Freshley Made Sketches #498 Challenge also found here.  Here is the sketch:
Think I did ok with this.  I just used some Recollections cardstock and black& white patterned paper.  I added a fun stitched oval in the middle along with a white butterfly. The Oh Hey came from one of my Spellbinders Card Kits...not sure which one now.  Such a super simple card that easily you could make multiples of if you need a few for a gift or to build up your stash.

Be Mine Shaker

I finally did it!  I tried using vinyl on cardstock.  I love the results.  So, I have to thank Melody Lane and her followers for the encouragement and tips to make transferring vinyl to cardstock not so scary. Now if you are not familiar with Melody lane you can find her Facebook Page hereAlso, I encourage you to follow her YouTube channel found hereI really get great ideas, encouragement, and learn so many things by watching this fellow crafter's tutorials.

So I started this card with the designs I had already created design space.  See the next post down to see that.  In case you missed it and want to use the project and you have Cricut Design Space you can click on this link.

After I cut out the card front from white cardstock.  I cut out the BeMine outline with pink vinyl.

As I mention in the video at the bottom of the post.  I got so engrossed with making the shaker card I forgot I wanted to decorate the card front with stamping.  So before I closed in all the shaker elements I decided to add some cute heart washi layered with gold triangle washi.  For the shaker bits I used a few purple sequins...and not too many like usually do.  I also added some tiny white beads. These are perfect because it helps keep the sequins moving.

I hope you will give the card a try or perhaps another shaker card.

I am entering this card in the Just Us Girls Challenge :

Using Up Scraps Part 2

This week I wanted to focus again on using up those scraps of paper you have in those bins, files, etc.  Here is another couple of cards that use patterned paper to build a card sketch you can use over and over.

The sentiment from the starburst cards is by Papertrey Ink using Costal Cabana Ink by Stampin' Up!  The card bases and the patterned paper used on all cards is by Recollections.

I am submitting the Patterned Paper Panel card with the Happy Birthday Sentiment to the Just Us Girls Challenge:#469 Leftovers.

Below is the video of the making of these cards or you can see it over on my YouTube Channel.
