Flat Shaker Trifold Card

I am back using one of those trifold card bases I made. This one is stepped up a bit with a flat shaker. All the shaker bits are between two pieces of tulle. I like that I can see elements from the next fold of the card. Hope you give a flat shaker a try. There is a video of course for this card found here.

Faux Dip Dye Watercolor with a Flat Shaker Twist

That title sounds like a drink doesn't it? I thought it was clever...anywhoo, This has been on my I want to try that list since Christmas when I saw Kristina Werner do it. I was really hesitant. I thought it would be difficult to recreate but it wasn't at all. So I challenge all of you to get out of your comfort zone. Try a technique or fun fold you have never tried. It just may become your next favorite thing to do in cardmaking.

I so enjoyed making these cards. The biggest tip is to use that heat tool. It makes this a
much speedier process. Otherwise, you will spend most of your time waiting for your ink to dry.

I have a video up if you want to check out how I made these cards just head here.

Let's Use up Some Washi!

So I have been doing some budget 💵friendly cardmaking ideas over on TikTok. This one I found on Pinterest of using Washi tape to create a frame then adding your image/sentiment in the middle.

You all know you have too much washi tape....so get those rolls out. This is a great way to use some of it up...and yes if you finish a roll of your favorite washi I promise there will be other washi tapes waiting in the wings to become your favorite. Stop the hoarding! ( I am not yelling at you I am yelling at myself. 😆) I have made several of these, some with all Dollar Tree items, others with things from my stash that I am trying to use. This particular one is a sticker I made with my Cricut Explore on Design Space. Let me show you the rest of these...I think they are so cute!

Vellum Borderless Shaker Card

A shaker card using vellum...📃such a nice muted look. This turned out pretty much as I had imagined. So glad I added the sentiment using my Cricut Explore and Cricut Design Space to make a Happy B Day Sentiment with shadow. That offset feature has really stepped up the game for sure. You can see me put this card together over on my YouTube channel. The link is here. I mentioned in my video I would link the mat...but I didn't save it, unfortunately. 😒 ARGH! Sorry about that everyone.

I am at it again ya'll. I made clusters of embellishments one evening, then the next day turned them into cards. For this card. I took the banner, the flat shaker element, the sentiment sticker, and the butterfly to create the embellishment. The next day I added a red panel that I had embossed in silver with a corner border. Then it all went on a white top folding card base. Doing cards in batches like this has been fun.

Be Mine Shaker

I finally did it!  I tried using vinyl on cardstock.  I love the results.  So, I have to thank Melody Lane and her followers for the encouragement and tips to make transferring vinyl to cardstock not so scary. Now if you are not familiar with Melody lane you can find her Facebook Page hereAlso, I encourage you to follow her YouTube channel found hereI really get great ideas, encouragement, and learn so many things by watching this fellow crafter's tutorials.

So I started this card with the designs I had already created design space.  See the next post down to see that.  In case you missed it and want to use the project and you have Cricut Design Space you can click on this link.

After I cut out the card front from white cardstock.  I cut out the BeMine outline with pink vinyl.

As I mention in the video at the bottom of the post.  I got so engrossed with making the shaker card I forgot I wanted to decorate the card front with stamping.  So before I closed in all the shaker elements I decided to add some cute heart washi layered with gold triangle washi.  For the shaker bits I used a few purple sequins...and not too many like usually do.  I also added some tiny white beads. These are perfect because it helps keep the sequins moving.

I hope you will give the card a try or perhaps another shaker card.

I am entering this card in the Just Us Girls Challenge :

Final Look-Assembly Line Cards

Over the weekend, I got a chance to finish all the cards I had planned from the backgrounds and critters I had completed. Here is one of the cards I made into a shaker using a circle die, some fun foam and acetate.  I stamped Birthday Wishes by My Sentiments Exactly in Momento Tuxedo Black Ink after putting together the shaker.  I added the bear holding  a cake, as well as a pearl enamel dot.  I used some chunky blue glitter as the shaker portion.

Next is a similar card this time I used a heart die, with some sequins, gold micro beads, as well as some iridescent glitter inside the shaker.  I used the same sentiment, this time with a yellow flower added.  This critter is a fox holding a present.

Below are the other cards I did using the same idea but this time they are not shakers.  For these I think the image should have been bigger on some.  The critter sometime really isn't filling the entire space well.  I used patterned paper behind one image.  I also used two critters in one trying that out.  I like them all but the shakers are my favorites.

The shakers I am entering into two challenges:
Pile it On Challenge:  #129 Interactive Card
Lemon Shortbread Challenge: #38 Anything Goes

Autumn

Well here in Southern CA we finally had a break in the temps and hit the 80's this week a couple of days.  Love it!  Though there really isn't a true change in season with fall colors where we are, doesn't mean I don't want to make some "fall" cards.  This one is again using an image on line that I colored with sharpies.  I also decided to do a shaker card, which I haven't done in a long while.  I colored the silver sequins I had by Tree house studio with my sharpies and add them in.  I have had these shaker cards forever, so I have no idea where the card kit came from.  The one thing I would have done different here is put two layers of foam tape around my image to make the shaker part a bit deeper.  I used brown StazOn ink for the sentiment.  The sentiment is one of my favorite.  I have had it forever.  I love the the font.  It is made by Hero Arts.  It was a pretty simple card to make and I know just who will be receiving this one.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
