Washi Tag is the Focal Point

Ok, I am taking that quick easy washi tag I made in the last video and turning it into a card.  This was super simple.  I used some scene builder items from the Washi Tape Shop to add to the tag.  I just stock those items on some cardstock then fussy cut them out roughly.  I added a sentiment I had made an extra of and called it good.  Not bad for a quick card.

Merging Two Shapes Using Partial Die Cutting

I don't have an arch die, which I needed for this Pinterest Inspired card. But that is ok. I used partial die cutting to create one with a circle and a square die. I also "played" a bit with watercolors again. Each time I do this I get a bit more comfortable with watercolors. Not sure I will ever be a watercolor artist but it is fun to keep trying different techniques.

Make Your Own Washi Borders

I liked this because it just adds a different option for your cards without having to buy these in sheets, instead just use the washi you already have. I did find it easier to die-cut the washi when I stuck it on parchment paper prior to cutting it.

Easy way to Make Photo Corners

You know I am always trying to figure out how to use my washi tape.  Well here is another one…for photo corners.  Remember when photo corners were all the rage in scrapbooking?  Well, you can make simple ones that will go with your card easily by just folding washi around the corners of your project.  It also helps “frame” the area where you want the eye drawn to.  It is so simple, not sure why I haven’t done it before.  Hope you give it a try when you have some time to get crafty.

Making a Sketch my Own: Ruffled Washi Again Stole the Show

I love a good sketch, and this one allowed me to do my ruffled washi technique which of, course had me all smiles. This sketch had a bit of different elements to it that I liked. I really wished I had gold eyelets for this one but the brads worked well too. Tell me are you sketch fan as well? Those Dollar Tree Stickers can't be beaten either. I just loved using these hot air balloons.

It is Time to Use Up at Least One Product

Do you ever realize you have too much stuff! Well, there are a couple of ways to pair that down. One is to give it away. The other is to use it up. I love it when I finally use up a product in my stash. Today it is some metallic washi I think I got from Diaso. I used it to make a cute little background for a card. What are the products you have been able to use up lately? I would love to know.

I am including a video for this card that is found here.

Keeping it Simple and Elegant for Sypathy Cards

So, if you are a beginner cardmaker, this is an easy card tutorial to follow if you need a sympathy card. Though really it could be used for any occasion, just change up the style of washi tape and sentiment. It would then be a totally different card. This is a card you keep in your arsenal when you need something quick. This card will not break the bank. So if you are new to cardmaking it only takes a few items. You can switch out the washi for patterned paper, paper that you have stamped on. This card can be a jumping-off point in so many directions. I hope you might give it a try next time you need a quick card.

I've got two links for videos for you. Here is the one for the card. Then here is another one showing how to tie a perfect bow using a fork as I did on this card. Both are only 1 minute long.

Emboss Resist Using a Kid's Watercolor Set

Not every card making technique needs the fanciest of supplies. Today’s card I revisited a staple how-to, embossing resist. I also did this quickly using a kids watercolor set that I bought my son probably 7 years ago or so. It still has plenty of use left, so I thought I might as well use it. I love it since it had some bright colors in it that would match the washi tape I was going to use as the focal images. I took the washi tape, layered it on cardstock then used a die to cut out the images to make them look like postage stamps. I think this worked pretty well. 😉

Using Some Digital Patterned Paper

Digital paper is a great way to really add different looks to your projects without spending a lot of money. I love digital paper, digital stamps, etc when creating. You don’t have to use the die cutting machines like Cricut, either. If you have Word, a printer, and some dies, then you have more than enough to get started using digital mediums you print on paper in your papercrafting. For today’s greeting card, I used a Pinterest Pin to inspire me. I broke out that music digital paper I just downloaded into Word the printed it out. Then I made these cute cards using minimal supplies. I hope you will try this card making idea next time you get a chance to play with your stash. Thank you for stopping by my channel. Making Handmade Feathers for Your Projects

You could use several different items to make your own feathers. Patterned paper, duct tape, vinyl would work too. I used washi tape for this diy tutorial. Did you know you could make your own homemade feathers? I was very pleased when I tried this years ago, so I still will make some from time to time. For the center of the washi tape, I used twine. I think wire would be great here as well. If you have those scissors that make several even cuts in a row that will make this, go quicker. I don’t have a pair of those, so I just use regular scissors to make all my snips. This is such a simple diy, I am sure you have supplies on hand to make a few feathers the next time you have some crafting time.

Washi Flowers

Floating Panel Card

I have done this in the past and loved the look, so wanted to revisit it. This time, I incorporated some of my favorite washi, which I have always wanted to use. I used lined paper to help try to keep everything straight...instead of my usual eyeball method. I hope this inspires you to get out some pretty paper or washi to give this a try.

I, did make a second card with the part I die cut out. Here is that card:
Yes, you guessed it, there is a video here.

Washi Wreath Card

I have a lot of washi, so I am always looking for ways to use it. Here is just one of those ways: make a washi wreath. I did add the washi on to cardstock but you don't have to do that if you don't want to. To see how I put this cute card together see the video here.

Dollartree Inspiration

Some Spooky panels made I into cards. Thanks Dollartree for all the inspiration. For the top card, I just added some bat washi tape to make it stand out a bit more.  For the one in the middle, I added black cardstock and washi tape to create the corners.  For the last card, I just trimmed the ruffle cupcake wrapper trim so it would fit the panel.

You can get so creative just by using some dollar tree items in your cardmaking.  Great for those who have a limited budget for crafting.

Washi Witch Hat Card

I don't about you but I have a lot of washi. So I am always trying to incorporate it into my cards. Today I made my own witch hat by drawing the hat on the piece of cardstock and cutting it out. Then on the card base, I just layered up all my Halloween washi. It lacked some pizazz so to step it up the cutout piece I sent through my die-cut machine with an embossing folder. That added some texture to this simple card. I then added some bling in the embossing design for a bit of sparkle. Hope this inspires you. Yes, there is a video too if you would like to see it here.

Card Round Up for Inspiration

Just sharing a few cards that I have completed using up some scraps, die cuts, and ephemera I had ready to use. If you haven't tried that, if you have extras or scraps, take a minute to just put a few pieces together. It is amazing how quickly you can put together a card with things you just may have out on your desk. Hope this inspires you to go play today!

DIY Washi

I had such fun doing this on a live recently over on TikTok so I wanted to share it. I suggest using acrylic paint and then embossing any images you want to use with clear embossing ink. That was what worked the best for me. I did use some dye ink on another try at this but if you do that make sure you leave it at least overnight to dry. The link here is the paper I used from AlinaCraft.

You can see an extremely sped-up version of this project over on YouTube found here.

Use Your Scraps Slimline

Every month this year I am challenging myself to use cardstock or patterned paper out of my "scrap bin" to make a card. I need to use up those scraps instead of hoarding them all. This time for my "scrap" I decided to start also pulling out all of those images I colored last August during the 30-day color challenge. So I used this pre-stamped and colored image from my stash to make a slimline card. I kept it super simple adding a sentiment along with washi tape. Come on you can do the same. Pull out some of those items from your stash. Pull out those scraps. Make a card. Then send it to someone to brighten their day!

I also have a video over on YouTube. You can find it here.
