Making a Shaped Card Is Something Fun to Try

Not sure this lived up to the Pinterest Card I used for inspiration, but I love trying out new products. This time I was using my new smaller brushes that work well for small stenciled areas. It did what I wanted on this card helping to highlight the embossing, but it did get into the grooves too. That is ok. I did use a few bits from my stash, which turned out great, but I think I went a little overboard.

Let's Sand That Cardstock for a Different Look

Did you know if you sanded cardstock that has a white core, it will show through? Well, now you know. This will give your cardstock a different look after you have embossed it. This is just another way to stretch your supplies. I really like having this option. You then could even rub another ink color over top as well to give more variation. The possibilities! Hope you try this card technique when you get a chance.

Scraps Card Tissue Paper Edition

I believe all paper is up for adding to a card. So I decided to explore a bit with tissue paper. I wanted the crumpled look. I then decided why not dry emboss the card front with an embossing folder AND embossing powder. It was a double emboss if you will. This made a great background. I kept the focal point pretty minimal with a white embossed image/sentiment. For a bit extra, I added on some prima flowers. I did add another layer of patterned paper under the double embossed panel. I loved how it just matched the colors. More scraps from my scrap bin used! Yay!

See the video for this card here. It is only a minute long... 😃

Live Your Bliss...Simply

Some of my favorite cards...are the ones that are simple...
Not a lot of flair.  Just a simple focal point, a sentiment, maybe a few embellishments.

This card is born from that concept.  I had the cricut explore out and cut a simple floursh, two butterflies, and a cool looking label.  For interest, I added some blue washi tape and the smallest butterfly was ebossed using the dot ebossing folder.  Add a Papertrey Ink sentiment in Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink...and done.

Truly this is one of the simplest card I have done in a while.  I hope you enjoy
