Making a Shirt Card With Double Sided Paper

Have you ever made those cards that look like a shirt? Well, here is a take on that. I have made a couple myself, but this is by far the easiest one. The double-sided paper really helps this come together, making it look more realistic. This is a card a beginner card maker can make with no problems. Your recipient will think you are so clever too. 😊

This Combo Really Works

I have found another completely successful card-making recipe. This combo really works. Bright colors, simple shapes that repeat. That is really it! Super cute, totally easy. You do give your die-cut machine a bit of a workout, but after that, it is just gluing it all down. Add a few gems, a sentiment, a surprise of some kind here or there. Voila! Success! This is perfect if you are just starting out in cardmaking or paper crafting. Seriously, give this one a try.

From a Baby Card to a Thank You Card Using Digital Paper

I am so excited to use some digital paper that is in my Etsy Shop. The best part is it coordinated well with some scraps I had in my stash. The inspiration photo was a baby card. I really don’t have any need for a baby card. I decided instead to do a Thank You. But I did have a cute elephant die in my stash that reminded me of the inspiration card. That polka dot patterned paper worked so well with this die. I hope you check it out in my Etsy Shop. So, I was able to use the inspiration to go from a baby card to a thank you card so easily thanks to the cute digital paper and an elephant die.

Penny Slider Card

I don't have any dies that make slider cards. I instead use an SVG whenever I want to make a penny slider card. You can also hand-cut one, but I would likely just cut my finger instead. I should make more cards with some kind of interactive element. They are such fun. What are you making this weekend?

Don't Be Afraid to have Multiple Patterned Papers on Your Card

Using many different pattern papers on a card can be very scary.  As a pretty simple card maker, I still struggle with this.  However, there is a few things I stick to if I am going to try to pull of multiple patterned papers on a card.  First, I find a card sketch that will give me some guidelines as I work outside my comfort zone.  Secondly, I try to use paper from the same pad.  That way it all coordinates.  You don’t have to guess if all the patterns will go together.  If using papers from the same collections is not an option, try this:  Use a polka dot, a check pattern of some kind, and then a floral that have like colors.  For me that usually works.  Hope these helpful hints that I doubt are mentioned in the video help.  😊

Making Background Paper Old School

I had to share this very simple background with you all. When I was a novice cardmaker, I saw this technique in a cardmaking magazine. I felt so accomplished when I tried it the first time. I loved how it looked. I loved it was simple. It was just so fun to make a background that looked as good as some patterned paper that was out there. I hope you will give this one a try for all the above reasons too. I hope you feel accomplished. Then take that beautiful card you just made, pop a quick note to a friend on the inside, and send it. I know it will brighten their day.
