For My Friend

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Father's Day weekend.  We did here.  In fact, I don't think I touched a single project last week.  Wait, that is not true.  I did cut a couple of mats for the mini album I am working on.  But that was about it.  So that explains why no posts last week.

This weekend I have made up for it however...getting lots of inky goodness made.

So I wanted to share the card I made as inspired by the CAS(E) this sketch blog's # 129 sketch.    You can see it to the right.  My first attempt of what I wanted to try for this sketch did not turn out at all the way i had invisioned.  But my second attempt I am very happy with.

I took a Hedi Swapp mask and used my ink blending tool to put on some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.  On top of that I layered a beautiful washi tape in silver.  I put it just in the corners as a bit of a frame.

I then stamped a butterfly by Unity Stamps in Tempting Turquoise ink by Stampin UP!  This got fussy cut out and popped up on some foam squares.

The sentiment I did in Hello Honey, again by Stampin UP!  The sentiment is from one of my many Studio G stamps.

I added a single rhinestone by Recollections to the bottom of the Card.

Super Dad!

I hope you all have a great Father's Day this weekend.  Those of you who are blessed to spend time with your Dad can always make a Super Dad card for him if you have a Cricut Machine.

I started with the Mojo # 400 sketch.  I did not get to post this on that weekend.  I missed the deadline.  :(  Oh well, it's a great sketch and it was perfect for what I wanted to do for my husband for this holiday.

The main image is from Summer Celebrations.  I cut it out using Recollections paper in Black, blue, and cream.

The Background was made by taking a simple rectangle in cricut design space.  I added a circle to the bottom left and then used the slice action to give the result I wanted.

I then add the sentiment using the cricut on a banner from Bits and Pieces.

For the last bit of umph, I added some tan and brown buttons from my stash.'

Happy Father's Day

I began the Father's Day card that is going to my father in law with this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch #401.

I began with a piece of watercolor paper that I watercolored with Tempting Tourquoise and Costal Cabana.  I backed the piece with some brown cardstock by Recollections.  I then cut a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 cream colored cardstock and backed that with the same brown cardstock.  I wanted to bring in some other images so I picked that coral colored cardstock to add some contrast.  Finally to mount everything I cut another piece of creme cardstock and made an A2 card.

Then it was time to stamp.  I stamped the boat with Stazon Brown Ink.  I added a background of fishing lures with Versamark ink on the coral cardstock.  All the images are pretty old, I have had them forever and were made by Lasting Impressions.

I realized I did not add my twine I wanted onto the layers, so I punched a hole at the top of the fold line of the card to add the twine and put it in a simple bow.

Finally, I needed the sentiment.  I broke out the cricut for that.  I cut out a starburst from Cricut Office Help in the same brown cardstock.  The circle is just a simple shape I cut out after the Cricut wrote out the sentiment in the baby steps font using the cricut black fine point pen.

All done!  It has already been signed by all and making it's way across the country to my Father in law.  I will be back later in the week with another Father's Day card..hope to see you then.

Artistic Rainbow

Well I had a big weekend with the family, so not much stamping was done.  But I did take a moment to get a bit inky with this simple Thank You card.

I used some Stampin' Up ink's in Bermuda Bay, Tempting Turqoise, and Pacific Point.  The sentiment is from Unity.  It probably looks familiar because I just used on my project from last week.  The image is also from Stamin' Up's Work of Art set.

I am including this as part of Craft Your Passion # 265 Always Anything Goes.

Popping up to say Thank You!

This is totally not an original.  But I had a great time making these cute step Thank You cards.

The cardstock and ink is from Stampin Up!  The patterned paper is from the Tattered and Worn pack by Recollections.  The bling is also Recollections.  And the sentiment stamp is by Unity.  I used my cricut to cut out the scallop, the circles, and the flowers.

The design is from Dawns stamping thoughts and I saw this on Youtube.  If you want to check it out go here.

I loved that I could make 4 cards easily just by doing some assembly line work.  This came together quickly and I loved every minute

Thank you Dawn!
