Ink Smooshing for the Win!

I was working on a blog post.  I then hopped on over to my reading list since I haven't checked it out in ages.  Then...bam a super cute challenge going on over at Color Throwdown.  Next in line was another challenge, I was interested in over at Uniko Studio.  Finally, a great staple of an Anything Goes Challenge over on Crafty Creations Challenge.  I started thinking, how long has it been since I actually participated in some challenges?  Not since November of last year!  ๐Ÿคฆ

It was time to change that.  I am so glad I did because I created this beauty below.  A bit of ink smooshing with Distress Oxide inks in the colors of worn lipstick, twisted citron, spiced marmalade, and fossilized amber.  I then took the Unity Stamp Co.'s dogwood blossom and first stamped it in worn lipstick on top with twisted citron on the bottom.  I liked that but it did not really stand out like I wanted.  So I took my panel moved it slightly to the right and up.  Then I restamped the dogwood blossom again in Momento's tuxedo black ink.

I struggled a bit with what I wanted to do with the sentiment.  It was then I spied a scrap of vellum out on my table.  I took out the latest July 2021 stamps I received with my Spellbinders Card Kit.  What I have loved the most about receiving a subscription service is that I am building the catalog of sentiment stamps I have.  On the vellum, I heat embossed just saying hello using versamark ink with Wow superfine primary ebony embossing powder.

I really love how this turned out.  For a bit of sparkle I also added some splats of gold watercolor paint.  Love how that catches the light.๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I am entering this card into the following challenges:  Color Throwdown # 653.

Uniko Studio: Challenge #66 Flowers

Budget Friendly Card Using Dollartree Items

I made this card and posted it on my TikTok account. ๐Ÿ’—The colors are so vibrant. You can also see it in my stories currently on Instagram. I used all dollartree items except for the white cardstock. Totally budget Friendly. I wish I cautioned my younger self to look for the deals because you can still make super cute cards without buying every supply out there.๐Ÿ˜†

For You

๐Ÿ’ฎFor You! Had to make a couple of more cards using those daisy dies from the #spellbindersclubkits. These came as part of the April Kit. There was no way I was going to get good use out of dies that are of my favorite flower, ya know? I also had cut out so many in one sitting I needed to put them to good use. On the purple ombre card base, they really stood out.

I added some light yellow color blending on the white card with
@stampinup Hello Honey. For the middle of the flower, I used #nuvodrops in the dazzling blue part of the glitter drop selections. For the sentiment on the purple card, I used a sentiment from @alina_alinacraft . The white card with yellow daisy I used a sticker I got from @dollartree . Yes...I am using my stash!
So proud.

Cricut Corner: Using Design Space to Create a Card

 When I saw these drawn
๐ŸŒบpoppies in Cricut Design Space I fell in love.❤️‍๐Ÿ”ฅ I knew I wanted to make a card using them. I immediately started putting together the card in Cricut Design Space to give me some idea of how I thought I wanted to use them. I will show you the process of how I use Design Space to get the sizing correct. Then how I took those elements to create this classic card. There is a bit of Copic coloring and doodling on this card. I hope you enjoy it. Here is a link to my Cricut Mat in Design Space in case you want to use these Poppies on a card of your own. If you want to see this classic card come together head here to see the video.

Rainbows for a Friend

Thanks, @teamspellbinders for the ๐ŸŒˆ stamp in the April #spellbindersclubkits I did not have one in my stash. I of course had to use it along with a sentiment from the same kit to make this bright fun card. ๐Ÿ˜Š The inks are all Stampin Up!  Sorry, I don't remember the colors....

Cards I Forgot To Share

Somehow I missed posting these two cards.๐Ÿค” The card with the plant that says "bloom" along with the patterned paper came from the Spellbinders March card kit. The card with the tag, flowers and the bird is from the April Kit. Sending love is on this in a 3D foam which is hard to see on the busy background paper. Neither of the cards makes my heart stop. ๐Ÿฅบ But I would hope that would still bring joy to someone.

Hello Friend: A White Gel Pen is a Powerful Tool

Here's the card I shared over on TikTok. You can find that video here. ๐Ÿ“œ I used a few die cuts I did on my Cricut using Cricut Design Space images and of course, a Spellbinder's die. With the leaves and flower I added a bit of dimension with foam tape. The Hello I cut out of Recollections Rose Gold cardstock and used the same as a frame around the green. The friend under Hello Friend is a sticker I made on my computer. It was looking a bit plain until...I broke out the white gel pen. This card has led to a lot more doodling on cards lately. You'll start to notice that in some upcoming cards I am sure.

Alcohol Inks on Acetate: Butterfly Card

I wanted to play around with some alcohol inks,✒️since I had not done that in quite a bit. I also had this lovely butterfly die I still had not put to use. So using the alcohol inks on acetate is how I "colored" the butterfly I guess you could say. I used Watermelon and Wild Plum Alcohol inks by Ranger. I loved how this turned out. I also loved that I didn't just "eyeball' everything. I measured...used a T ruler๐Ÿ“...it was an amazing experience. LOL.๐Ÿ˜‚ To see the video of putting the card together you can click this link.

Intersecting Lines Part 2

One last simple lined card with a ๐Ÿ’ฒDollartree metallic pen, a die-cut heart, sequins, and a sentiment. These are so much fun to make.  So easy to pull them together for a gift ๐ŸŽ for a friend.

Intersecting Lines...That May be all you Need!

Intersecting...lines.๐Ÿ“ So simple. I did a quick run-through on how to make these types of cards over on my TikTok account (@Samanthadesings2). Then I went a bit crazy..trying out different looks, different elements to put at the intersections. I ended up with a nice few cards that I definitely love. Thanks again Pinterest for the inspo! ๐Ÿคฉ

Criss Cross Fun Fold Card

I made a retirement card✨ for a colleague using a super cute fun fold. This one is the Criss Cross Fun Fold. I am using Spellbinder's dies and patterned paper from the March kit along with a stamp from the June kit to pull this card together. It turned out great. The recipient loved it so I am pleased. The tutorial I used was from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts on YouTube. I did make a few modifications from her original. This is a really simple card to make. Hope you might give it a try.

Here is Dawn's link to her YouTube tutorial for this card.

A bit of Masking...A Bit of Blending

Today I wanted to try out my new washi paper from Alina Crafts on Alliexpress to see how well it works to mask. The June Spellbinders Card Kit has such cute critters so I know I wanted to group them together then blend on a background to make a simple card. The masking paper makes this process so much easier. I used the kit's speech bubble stickers and the patterned paper to help bring this card together. I loved how this turned out. If you want to watch me pull this card together you can see that here.

I am sharing Alina's site on Alliexpress if you are interested. I do not get a commission, I just like Alina's products which are affordable as well as a blast to use. Alina's site: AlinaCraft Store

Wanted you to know I am not on TikTok and Discord if you ever wanted to stop by and say hello: All my information is below.

A Little Message

I have finally ๐Ÿšฆmoved on to the April Spellbinders card kit.   The simplicity of this card makes me happy ๐Ÿ˜Š.   I mixed and matched some different sentiment sets to put together just to let someone know you are thinking of them.
