Christmas in July Review

Wanted to show you how I have been spending my recent "play" time.  In July, over the course of about 3 weekends I turned an entire paper pad into cards.  I used some sketches for some, other's I just made into cards with what was left over.

I also made some boxes to store the cards/envelopes in.  I am proud of myself for using almost all of the paper pad.  I used lots of embellishments from my stash, so I am 😊.

The video above gives an overview of what I did.  I did use some stamped images as well.  I used a Stampendous set Sending Loads of Christmas Wishes, a Recollections Merry Christmas set, one Papertrey Ink sentiment, and then a collection since I used I can no longer locate.  How in the world I could lose an entire stamp set I do not know.

I hope this inspires you!  The inspiration to do this project came from a Youtuber I just recently discovered Kristie Marcotte.  You can find her channel here.

I have also added some pictures of some of the cards, in case you want to take a second look.💝

Thinking of You Owl

Sorry my crafty friends that it has been a while since I have posted.  My work life has been particularly demanding, so any time I have had I have been making pretty things.  Just not blogging about them.

But on, to one of the cute cards I have sent out recently. (That's right, I actually sent a card...Don't know about you but I make a lot of cards just never get around to the sending part).

This is one I made to send to a co-worker to let them know all of us at work had been thinking about them.  My Cricut was the star of the show for this one.  That turned out to be a good thing since I needed to make 4 of them.  So, while  I had everything out I just went to town.

The card base is a tri-fold from K&Co.  I have had these beautiful cards in my stash foever.

The background patterned paper is from Recollections.  The shape on the front that has "We have all been" is created with the Cricut and then die cut.  The cute owl is all from Cricut access.  I put it together using Ranger Multi-Medium.

On the inside, the Thinking of You sentiment was also created using a Cricut access sentiment.  I added more polka dot patterned paper on the inside to add some more interest.

This card was 5 x 7 so there was plenty of room for everyone to send well wishes to our co-worker.

I am adding this card to the following challenges:

Shopping my stash Ep. 5

I still have a couple of cards to show you from the last time I got out my pre- cut dies out  to make cards.

There is such satisfaction in knowing you are using all those shapes that were cut using your dies or die cutting machine.  In that same stash I also have colored images as well.  This makes putting a card together pretty quick.

Here is a card from that I put together with my son in mind.  He loves legos.  He also is a fan of ninja's who carry swords.  He has a sword collection of his own and at times gets them out to do some pretend fighting of the bad guys.

So I started out with a 5 x 7 card base from Recollections.  The "badge" die was already cut out from a previous project and in my stash.  I am sure it was one of those times I cut something out way too big.  As you can tell, this takes up much of the card.  I also had the green polka dot paper in my stash.

The image I am not sure where it is from but I had already colored it in.  It still felt that it needed something, so I used a white cut out of the star and colored it the same color using my copic markers.

The "my hero" sentiment I made using by printer and Cricut sticker paper.  I also added some green glitter epoxy stickers from dollar tree.

Now from this who collection of cards, of which I have 2 left to share, I asked my son to pick out his favorite.  I was shocked when it wasn't this one!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
