Using Outside of the Box Thinking for This Card

 I really try not to buy dies or stamps that I can only think of one way to use. However, this one got me because it was craft related. It was made to be used to make a shaker card. I had put it away for some time because I think I was kind of stumped of other ways to use this die. But ideas finally hit. So I got the die out and cut so many of these from colored pieces of cardstock along with white. Sometimes you just have to think outside of the box. I hope you enjoy this one. I was so proud when I came up with a couple of other options.

My Card is Upside Down, Time to Fix It

 

I have been making a few Halloween Cards. I made up a couple of cute sets, but as I was going through them, I realized that I had completely turned one of the card panels upside down. Ugh! Ever had that happen? Well, that means I got to get it fixed in case someone wants to purchase it through my Etsy shop. This video shows the simplest way I have found to do this. Adding Metallic Thread for a Bit of Oomph!

 Adding something extra to your card really makes it stand out from others. Today, I added some metallic thread to give my scalloped die cut image a little bit more. I think it draws your eyes into the image even more, adding some shine. It is easy to do. I just added a bit of tape on the back of the scalloped oval to hold the thread in place. Small details such as this really make your design stand out. I hope you will give this a try next time if you are looking for something different for your card.

Card Challenge Completed

 It can be difficult to make masculine cards. Kendra's Card Challenge helped me make 15 using the paper I had on hand. I rely heavily on patterned paper in my case whenever I need a card for a man. Now I have a handful, I can customize with just the right sentiment or other items when I need one or hey if you need one you can reach out to me. Making Some Spooky Cards

 

So I used this stencil I had to make another card that you will see eventually. Then looking at it I realized it kind of reminded me of a cobweb. It also matches some Halloween stickers I had from last year...One thing led to another. Also, at the time of this post these spooky cards have been sold. Adding Cupcake Liners Again to my Cards

 One thing I have been loving is looking at other products and how possibly I can work them into cards. Cupcake liners are the latest. Embossing Powders to Add Texture and Shine to a Card is Still a Classic

 I know I have said it before but I will say it again. Heat embossing is what got me hooked on making cards. The powder melting is just so soothing to watch. I haven't used embossing powder in a minute, so it was time to change that. This card turned out so good. I just love it. I did have to tone it down a bit since the background was so busy. However, using heat embossing just added the right touch.

Let's Use Those Scraps From Another Card

 Well, I loved the last card so much, I thought I need to use these scraps. All you need to do is just basically flip the design. So cool, so easy, and you get cards quickly done. It is a win! Simple Card Design: Great one to use to Make a Set

 

This is one of the pinned cards that is simple, quick to make, and you can make a set for a gift in no time. Really, I would add this simple card design to my projects for those you are making gifts for this year. They will love it. It has a classic look. Altering Patterned Paper Really Can Enhance Your Card

 A simple stamped image can really add something to your card. I like altering some of the more basic patterns of paper just to change it up. Have you ever tried this? If not I think you should. You could heat emboss or dry emboss the paper too for something extra.

Merging Two Shapes Using Partial Die Cutting

 I don't have an arch die, which I needed for this Pinterest Inspired card. But that is ok. I used partial die cutting to create one with a circle and a square die. I also "played" a bit with watercolors again. Each time I do this I get a bit more comfortable with watercolors. Not sure I will ever be a watercolor artist but it is fun to keep trying different techniques.

Bling Out a Card, It is Fun

 

There are times I just want to sit back watch videos, and do something that is just repetitive. So for this card, I got out some of my hundreds of gems. I sorted them to find the small ones, which all were orange. Then I stamped my flower pattern on my cardstock. That left gluing all those gems down. So relaxing. I highly recommend it.

Make Your Own Washi Borders

 

I liked this because it just adds a different option for your cards without having to buy these in sheets, instead just use the washi you already have. I did find it easier to die-cut the washi when I stuck it on parchment paper prior to cutting it.
