Affirmation Cards

I am super proud of these cards.  I can’t really pinpoint why.  They are super simple.  They use stamps that a friend gifted to me.  I used my Cricut to add the sentiments.  But, yeah I am proud of these.  They are super cute, and I love them.  I hope someone will buy some of these cards from my shop, and send them to a girlie who looks like one of the images to let them know they are wonderful, special, all the things we all should hear every day about ourselves.  I hope you like these cards as much as I do.

Scraps; Another Design

I don’t know about you but I have scraps that pile up after each and every project.  Once that pile gets too high it is time to use those scraps.  That is how this card came to be.  It only uses a few scraps to help make a focal point for the card.  For the image, I used a Dollar Tree Sticker.  This would be a simple card design if you are new to cardmaking.  I hope you get a chance to give it a try.

Making Backgrounds With Distress Oxides and a Gel Plate

I got out my gel plate for a bit of fun with distress oxide inks.  I did a fair number of backgrounds just using a few colors.  If you don’t have this tool in your craft room, I highly recommend it.  You can use it with inks, reinkers, and acrylic paints.  I do have to warn you it is addictive, so be prepared to have multiple beautiful backgrounds when you are done.  I did limit myself because I knew I would have to store them all somewhere.

I do apologize for the awful photo, I forgot to get a picture of this card once I had completed it.

Today I used Cricut Design Space to upload a couple of the digital papers I have in my Esty Shop to make some super cute, quick, Halloween Cards.  Using Design Space and my Cricut really helps me to use the paper as I want.  I sliced out of one, but the other I just resized.  This made the card I wanted in my head come to reality.

Reverse Fractured Card

I am calling this card a reverse fractured card.  You start with your card base, add patterned paper to each corner.  A focal point in the middle, then strips of cardstock line each of the pieces of patterned paper on one side.  It looks maybe a bit complex, but it really isn’t.  So glad to give this one a try for something a bit different.

Adding Texture to Your Cards

I am at it again, trying to make a card using scraps.  This time, I am focusing on how to add texture in different ways to this particular card.  I add string, simple dry embossing, and elements like staples.  Hope this gets your creativity flowing.  Tackle those scraps, I know you can make beautiful cards with them.
