So I have been doing some budget 💵friendly cardmaking ideas over on TikTok. This one I found on Pinterest of using Washi tape to create a frame then adding your image/sentiment in the middle.
You all know you have too much washi tape....so get those rolls out. This is a great way to use some of it up...and yes if you finish a roll of your favorite washi I promise there will be other washi tapes waiting in the wings to become your favorite. Stop the hoarding! ( I am not yelling at you I am yelling at myself. 😆) I have made several of these, some with all Dollar Tree items, others with things from my stash that I am trying to use. This particular one is a sticker I made with my Cricut Explore on Design Space. Let me show you the rest of these...I think they are so cute!
Here is one last way to use the main image🌼 from the Spellbinders April Card Kit of the Month. It uses a bit of color blocking which then spotlights the image. Again, this is another way where you don't have to do any coloring. I like coloring but I do have to be in the mood to do it. 😏So this is perfect for when I am not. This is also a way to use some of those scraps you have lying around. To see how I made this card head on over to my YouTube channel. You can following this link.
I am on a roll this weekend! It has been fun. I think I have fallen in love with doing Facebook live. 😜
I created all these cards in a couple of sessions of Facebook Live. You can find those videos on my Facebook page. Just click this link.
The first video was on 10/29/17, the second was 11/3/17 if you want to check them out.
To make these cards I used Recollections square card bases in white. Random paper scraps from my stash were used to stamp the images. I used stamps from Verve and Unity Stamps. The patterned paper showing came from some patterned paper stacks from American Crafts called Everyday. Also, from the Paper Studio's Pink Lemonade.
The American Craft's pad I picked up from Tuesday Morning so probably not a pad you could find. The Pink Lemonade I bought over the summer. I added Nuvo drops as well as some butterfly stickers to add some interest.
I hope this will inspire you to watch the videos maybe while you craft or maybe just use these as a jumping off point to inspire.
This idea for me was inspired by my crafty guru Jennifer McGuire. Don't think she knows she is my guru but she is (and one of many).
You can find the video that inspired me here.
I will be entering the first card in the following challenges:

Let's just say...I was on a roll...and got a little crazy. Here is the Mojo Monday Sketch this week that got things going:
I had been wanting to get out the coffee image I picked up a year or so ago from Unity Stamp Company. I knew I wanted to use this sketch. I liked the looks of it. Then, I thought let's do a series of these. So I ended up with 10 cards...that's right...10. I am definitely going to be gifting some of these since I am not sure I would ever use all 10 anytime soon.
I began by using my 1 1/2 inch by 5 1/2 inch scraps of cardstock with the image above. I stamped the images on these scraps using Momento Tuxedo Black, Stampin' Up's Coastal Cabana, and Moment's Rose Bud. I got these stamped pretty darn quickly as I used my Stamp Perfect positioning tool. This is one of the tools I am so glad I purchased because I could stamp the same image twice to get the ink dark. I cut down those images to the size I wanted. I added a bit of Wink of Stella to different parts of the image for a bit of sparkle.
Since the main image is around coffee, I knew I wanted to use patterned papers that were primarily tan/brown with pops of color. I have a 6 x 6 paper pad by Recollections that fit the bill perfectly. I layered each section either on Kraft cardstock or in case of the main image on the Recollections paper.
All the edges of those layers are inked either in the Rose Bud or the Costal Cabana.
I added some of the ombre embroidery floss I bought to the bottom of each card. Though it isn't that noticeable in the pictures, it does give it another pop in person.
To some of the cards I added a sentiment thanks to my Cricut and some different dies I have in my stash.
This one above I added not only a sentiment but also a flower I made using my cricut. It is for my son's dance teacher to give her after his recital. Inside I added a velum envelope that will house a gift card for Starbuck's. I also added wink of stella to the flower petals as well for some more sparkle.
I am adding these cards to the following challenges:

I had one of those cards that I needed to make for a co-worker who's mom has passed away. These are the cards that aren't as much fun to make.
To me the best approach in a sympathy or thinking of you card is to keep it simple. A one layer card is one way to do that.
As I have said before I have quite a few stamps that I have had for years. This background stamp by The Moon Rose Art Stamps is one of my favorites, especially for one lay cards. It brings the main image in focus.
In this card I stamped the background in Coastal Cabana. The Dandelions by Unity Stamps are stamped in Island Indigo. I stamped the sentiment in the same ink. The Thinking of You sentiment is from My Favorite Things. I love this because it stretches across the entire card.
Though the reason for this card was sad, I did enjoy making it since I don't usually get a chance to do stamping during the week. Thanks for stopping by!
I will be adding this card to the following challenges:

This week again I decided to turn to some challenges for inspiration and well.....to challenge myself. I picked two to combine. First up, the Split Coast Stamper Ways to Use It challenge # 501....Denim Delight! You need to use denim the color, or denim patterned paper...or something that reminds you of denim. With that I started looking for a great sketch and decided to use this week's CAS(E) sketch. Here is the link to the CAS(E) this Sketch Blog.
It is a beautifully simple card, which I love. The color scheme came from here. Once I finished with the card I realized how much like one of the design team's it was...maybe that is where the idea of the snowflake's came from.
The denim cardstock is from Die Cuts with a View's Lodge collection. All the other is from Recollections, with the patterned paper from Tattered and Worn collection. The snow die is from Sizzix. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Fillable Frames #8. I added shimmer to the denim and purple layers. Also added buttons and sequins. Love it!
For this card I decided to combine two challenges. It had been awhile since I had actually done a challenge and I felt it was time to jump back in. So I used the sketch from Mojo Monday Card Sketch Challenge.
# 368 to be exact. I saw this while I was surfing the net of some of my favorite blogs when I saw it and thought this is one I would love to do.
Next, just today I found a cool blog called...
Ema-gination that I had never been to before, but she has some great cards. I clicked on her link that listed all the challenges she has been a part of over the years and was amazed at the list of blog challenges out there. The one I was drawn to has a color challenge this week, to use Navy, Olive, and Purple. What a cool combination and it isn't one I use.... ever now that I think of it. Now I am wondering why I haven't. Anyhoo, the challenge is from "Just Us Girls". Here is the link to their blog.
So here is my card that I came up with after the above inspiration. It came together quickly and I kept it totally simple.
The olive/green patterned paper and he navy patterned paper I put behind the layers is all from a collection I have had for years by Basic Grey. The creme and kraft cardstock is from Recollections.
The Images came from my recent Hampton Art stamps you have been seeing lately. I am love getting these new stamps all inky. By the way, know how the witch is in? When her broom stick is hanging around...at least that is what I was thinking when I came up with which images to use.
I used brown Staz On ink and added some bling. The purple bling behind the image layer is Recollections purple glitter tape. I don't use this tape often and am always looking for ways to incorporate it into my cards. This totally fit the bill for tonight's combo.
Thanks for taking a look and have a great week!
