Galentines Cards, Done

Time to use those cute #Gallentinesday stickers I made using Cricut Design Space.  I used 2024 December’s Sheetload of Card Sketch to bring these cards together.  The patterned paper is from a Recollections Paper pad I thrifted back in California.  I love using the Sheetload Sketches.  It is always a win.  I make multiple cards, I use up my paper (of which there is a lot), and the work of figuring out all the cutting is done for me.  You can’t beat that.

I am getting caught up on all my favorite challenges I usually participate in. I used the November Sheetload of card sketch from 2024 for my new Valentine's Day cards. It worked perfectly. This card could be used at any time, but I love the stamped image/sentiment the most. This could sum up how you feel about anyone special in your life.

Valentine's Day Card Using the November Sheetload of Card Sketch

I am trying to get caught up with all the challenges I usually follow but missed due to my recent move.  I used the November Sheetload of Cards sketch to make the cute Valentine’s day Cards.  I am so glad I used the heart stamp and sentiment.  This is perfect not only for Valentine’s day but anytime you want to let that special someone know how much they mean.  These are for sale in my Etsy shop if you want to check them out. To see the video ofthis card being created please head here.

Cricut Design Space Custom Background

I made my fair share of Valentine’s Day cards this year.  I think this is my favorite.  I hadn’t played with my Distress Oxides in a while, so I got to add some color on a panel, add some water to give it that oxide look, I then added gold splatter.  Heaven!  The panel was made in Cricut Design Space.  I made it myself by adding a bunch of hearts on a panel leaving a slice of the middle of the heart intact.  The sentiment is a print and cut straight from Design Space.  After the elements by the Cricut are all cut this was so simple to put together.  I think my Valentine will like this card!  I hope you have had a great Valentine’s Day!

Let's Make a Flat Shaker

I adore flat shakers.  I think I like them more because I don’t have to fuss with the foam tape making sure there is not a gap.  I still had to make sure there were no gaps in this version too thanks to those tiny beads, but I did that using strong double-sided tape instead.  Using the vellum behind the panel I cut out with my Cricut Explore also helps those beads make a nice shaker sound.  This panel came straight from Cricut Design Space. The number of images grows daily with Design Space, so if you haven’t checked it out lately you should.  You’ll be sure to find something for your next project.  I did make sure to cut it using my detail blade so I would get a nice cut.  This card turned out beautiful.

Custom Card- Making Paper Look Like Worn Leather

I love it when I get a request for a custom card.  My customer wanted a card for Valentine’s Day for their significant other.  The inspiration came when she told me she had gotten her Valentine a new journal.  I also asked if she had a particular sentiment or message, she wanted added to the inside of the card which I did include thanks to my Cricut.  I had my Cricut write out the message.  The end result is so cute I had the Cricut also cut that lock in the shape of a key out of some gold cardstock.  I know this is a longer video so thank you for sticking it out if you watched to the end.

Adapted Inspiration into a 3 x3 Card

Today’s Pinterest Inspired card is a cute 3 x 3 card you could use for Valentine’s Day or any day you want.  I also love to use cards like this to pair with a gift I am giving.  Just a quick note and a signature on the inside is all that is needed.  The inspiration pin made me think of this die because it is only one of two that cuts out a pattern in a shape rather than cutting the shape too.  What types of Valentine’s Day Cards are you making?

Handmade Puzzle, This Has Been So Much Fun

I am having fun getting ready for Valentine’s Day by creating a few handmade puzzles.  I used 110lb weight cardstock for each of them.  I kept this one simple by using a Dollar Tree stencil and a few stamps.  I think it turned out just right.  I do have this available in my Esty shop along with a few others if you are interested.  I am also up for doing a custom puzzle if you need one.  It doesn’t have to be for Valentine’s Day.  If you want a custom puzzle for a birthday or any occasion, feel free to reach out.

Cricut Heart Background-Cricut Design Space

To make some simpler cards, I tend to put my Cricut Explore to work.  I found this lovely heart background in Cricut Design Space.  I knew it was destined to be one of my Valentine’s cards this year.  I could have done so many techniques, but I kept this one super simple.  I found a heart background paper in my stash to layer behind it.  I topped it off with a print and cut sentiment also that I found in Cricut Design space.  A few sequins and a dash of a glitter pen and I called it done.  What Valentine’s projects have you been up to?  Let me know in the comments section.

My First Origami Heart

I have finally used the first Pin I ever Pinned on Pinterest. To make an origami heart, which I then placed on a card, because what else would I do with it? I mean let's be real, that is what I do. I would love to have a bookmark, but I don't read physical books anymore. Do you read physical books? Ok, I could go off on a tangent, but I will stop with that question. I do recommend if you are going to make this heart, for the love of Pete, use paper, not cardstock. You'll thank me!

To watch the video where Ifound the heart tutorial head here.

Valentine Arrows Using Dollar tree Products

So for my Valentine's cards, this year I decided I wanted a dimensional arrow of love element. Here is what I came up with. The paper straws I had on hand, the heart table scatter, and crepe paper I picked up at Dollar Tree. I hope this inspires you. I post the final card here, once they are completed if you want to check it out. There is a video on how I made these. Just head here.

Valentine's Post It Note Holder, Part 2

It's time to decorate the Post It Note Holder I showed you in my last video. You can find how to put the base of the holder together here.

Today I thought I would show you the easy decorations I am adding. The flower stamp came from Spellbinder's Card Kit of the Month, July 2021. You could use anything in your stash. I kept it pretty simple. I am also using Cricut red glittered cardstock as the layer since I have lots of this on hand.

Go forth and craft my friends!

Stitched Heart Card 1 -Beginner Level Cardmaking

This is a sample of a cute fun card a beginner could make with that super simple stitched heart I showed you. You just need a bit of extra card stock, some washi. If you want also add a sentiment on the inside as I did if you have a sentiment stamp. You could also add a sticker sentiment as well if you would rather. Use what you have! Hope this inspires you!

To see how to make the stitched heart see my prior post.

Partial Die Cut Magic: Creating a Semi-Shaped Card

I added a nice heart topper to today's card using partial die-cutting. I had some 4 x 4 card blanks made from another project but wanted something a bit "extra". So I used a heart layering die to cut out the top portion in the heart shape using the partial die cutting method. This cuts down the area you have to write on on the inside of the card but you still have plenty of room for a short note. I used some of my scraps from my scrap bin (part of my New Year's Resolution for 2022). So, glad I rummaged through that bucket instead of looking for a whole piece of cardstock. To finish off the card after layering the other pieces of card stock I added a couple of pieces of washi tape. Stamped the sentiment in Momento's Tuxedo Black ink. For extra sparkle, I added some holographic pink sequins. I have a couple of valentines I plan on sending these cards to. Who are you sending Valentine's to this year?

I have a short video as well if you want to check it out.

Sunday, February 7, 2021

So I wanted to share a simple way to make some quick Valentine's Day💖 cards using stickers I put together in Cricut Design Space. So I made some stickers a few years ago in Design Space. When rifling through my stash I noticed I still had a few left. So I decided to turn the few I had left into cards. Today on my YouTube channel I shared this one. Such a simple go-to design that works EVERY TIME. This is a great project for a beginner cardmaker or for mass production. Head on over to my YouTube Channel to check out the rest of the stickers, see me make this card, and get the link to the mat for Cricut Design Space. The link for my YouTube channel is here.
