Challenge Fun
Today I just decided to play and see where it led me. It led to two awesome challenges. Freshly Made Sketches had a simply beautiful sketch to work with. You can find the challenge here. But the just look at that sketch. It was such fun to play with.
Along with the sketch, I found a color palette I thought looked fun to use. So through another blog, I found this challenge over at Jaded Blossom using this color combo.
I decided to combine the two. I then created two cards since I had everything out. The cardstock I used for the background came out of the So-So Sweet 4x6 paper pack by The Paper Studio. The rest of the paper were scraps out of my bin. The circles and squares were die cut with stitched dies. I added a simple stamped flower using Distress Oxide Broken China, Stamping Up! Pacific Point and Garden Green. I stamped a simple sentiment using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. For a nice simple touch, I added Liquid Mercury Nuvo Crystal drops. The finished card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I am entering the first card in the two challenges mentioned.
I love how these turned out. They are simple and look put together without much bulk so these are good ones to send through the mail. Hope you enjoyed them too. See ya next time!

Using up Scraps Part 4
I am back today with more ideas of using up those pretty patterned paper scraps. Cut them up! Using die cuts...😍
You can get such pretty results using simple shapes or doing die cut inlay using those scraps you just can't part with.
I am entering this card into Creative Fingers Challenge # 157: Anything Goes found here.
For more information check out my youtube video where I put one of the cards together at the bottom of this post.
You can also find me on social media if you want to see what I am up to next.

Valentine's Home Decor-using Cricut Design Space
I wanted to create something for above my workspace for Valentine's day. This paper mason jar fit the bill. This project was inspired by Do It On A Dime's recent post where she painted a jar that reminded me of a mason jar white and added beautiful flowers for an easy DIY. You can watch that video here.
I decided to head over to Cricut's Design Space to make a paper version that I could hang above craft workspace to celebrate Valentines. I started with craft and white cardstock to make the two layers of the jar. I then added the sentiment which was cut out of pink vinyl. I added some rolled flowers I made out of pink cardstock along with some green leaves I cut out too. To finish it off I added pink striped bakers twine from the Dollar Tree. I also used the baker's twine to create a hanger in the back to add it to my wall.
If you are interested in creating this project I am adding my mat from Design Space. Just click here!

Be Mine Shaker
I finally did it! I tried using vinyl on cardstock. I love the results. So, I have to thank Melody Lane and her followers for the encouragement and tips to make transferring vinyl to cardstock not so scary. Now if you are not familiar with Melody lane you can find her Facebook Page here. Also, I encourage you to follow her YouTube channel found here. I really get great ideas, encouragement, and learn so many things by watching this fellow crafter's tutorials.
So I started this card with the designs I had already created design space. See the next post down to see that. In case you missed it and want to use the project and you have Cricut Design Space you can click on this link.
After I cut out the card front from white cardstock. I cut out the BeMine outline with pink vinyl.
As I mention in the video at the bottom of the post. I got so engrossed with making the shaker card I forgot I wanted to decorate the card front with stamping. So before I closed in all the shaker elements I decided to add some cute heart washi layered with gold triangle washi. For the shaker bits I used a few purple sequins...and not too many like usually do. I also added some tiny white beads. These are perfect because it helps keep the sequins moving.
I hope you will give the card a try or perhaps another shaker card.
I am entering this card in the Just Us Girls Challenge :

Using up Scraps-Part 3
Another great use for those scraps of patterned paper we all hoard is paper piecing. In these two cards I stamped by image on the paper using Momento Tuxedo Black Ink. I then fussy cut out the images to add them to my cards. For the Balloons I stamped each balloon on the background I created with Distress Oxide inks in Peacock Feathers and Broken China. I then placed the pieces I had cut from patterned paper on the top of the balloons to give them some interest. The sentiment and heart are from stamps from Simon Says Stamp while the balloons are From Verve.
I also give you peek at another card I did with the shirts all pieced from paper for this one.
If you want more information feel free to watch the video below or go to my YouTube channel to check it out.
I am entering the balloon card above into the Creative Inspirations: January Challenge-Anything Goes. You can check out the challenges here.

Using Up Scraps Part 2
This week I wanted to focus again on using up those scraps of paper you have in those bins, files, etc. Here is another couple of cards that use patterned paper to build a card sketch you can use over and over.
The sentiment from the starburst cards is by Papertrey Ink using Costal Cabana Ink by Stampin' Up! The card bases and the patterned paper used on all cards is by Recollections.
I am submitting the Patterned Paper Panel card with the Happy Birthday Sentiment to the Just Us Girls Challenge:#469 Leftovers.
Below is the video of the making of these cards or you can see it over on my YouTube Channel.

So I don't know about you but I get inspiration from everywhere. A lot of times when inspiration strikes I like to see if I can make the idea I have in my head work for a card or papercraft. Today I worked on a thank you card that would be great for girlfriends maybe paired with a nail polish or emory board. If you are a Cricut fan and would like to grab the link head on over to my Facebook Page.
