Use your Patterned Paper Scraps

Here is another way to use some of your scraps.  Punch out some circles to make a pattern on your card front.  For my card today I added the 9 circles I punched from my left-over scraps.  I lined them up on the card front, adding a cute sentiment and a turtle sticker.  I did line both of these with some left-over black cardstock.  This is a simple cute card that would be great for a kid or grownup.

How to Use Difficult Patterned Paper in Cardmaking

So, I saw this video by Maymay Made showing how to use those 12 x 12 papers that are difficult to use in cardmaking. It worked. Take your 12 x 12 paper, and cut it at 4 inches so you have 3 panels. Then take each panel and cut at 5 ¼. This makes the perfect panel. With my paper, I did change where I cut depending on where it would slice the image. For instance, I didn’t want to cut off a flamingo’s head, so I just cut from the bottom. That did cut the Toucan a bit but it still worked out great. There is very little waste when you do this. You need to try this too!

February Sheet Load of Cards Completed

I did not get to do the Feb Sheet load of Cards till after March 1st.  I had everything cut out but just hadn’t put the cards together.  I used my Cricut this time to draw the main image and to complete the sentiment.  I think the Unicorn images were adorable.  If you would like to buy one of these, please see this link for my Etsyshop.  I think this would be a card that would make someone smile.

I have seen some other crafters using photo paper instead of Yupo to make some beautiful alcohol ink backgrounds.  I decided I would try that myself, but also I combined adding a bit of stenciling using distress oxides on top to make this bold background.  I made this background into a card.  To find that card you will have to go to my Instagram account.  I have a reel showing the inspiration for the card I made.  I hope you will check it out.

Kendra's Card Challenge 13

I have finally taken the time to work on Kendra’s Card Challenge 13.I decided to wait and show you all 15 cards once they were made..
I so enjoyed this.
For the paper and ephemera, I am using my 2021 Spellbinders Card Club Kit Wild Hello.  I do add a few odds and ends from other places as well but I pretty much stuck to using the items from the kit.  If you are interested in learning more about this challenge head on over to Kendra’s YouTube.  I will link it below.  This is a quarterly challenge.  I have done now I think two others.  They are always brilliant and so much fun.  Maybe you will give one of the challenges a go as well.

If you are interested in learning more about this challenge head here.
